About this site

Accessibility

In order to make the S4C web site accessible to as many people as possible it has been built using web standards and best practice web accessibility guidelines. Not only does this ensure that the web site will work in all modern, standards based browsing devices, but it also makes this web site easier to use for those with disabilities.

The Internet standards organisation (The World Wide Web Consortium or W3C) publishes standards and guidelines with a view to ensuring long-term growth for the Web. As part of this remit they have published guidelines for developing accessible web sites known as The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines or WCAG.

Where possible the S4C web site has been built to comply with all Priority 1 and Priority 2 WCAG checkpoints while addressing many of the Priority 3 checkpoints. Other S4C satellite and programme web sites are due to be brought in to line with the main site but some of them may currently fail to reach any of the standards set out in the guidelines. These will be re-built and published on a roll-out schedule.

S4C welcomes your feedback on issues that affect your ability to access any of our services whether you are disabled or otherwise. Please contact us if you would like to make further comments or suggestions.
