S4C is run by a Board which includes some members of the Channels Management Team and Non-executive members – namely people who do not work full time for S4C and are appointed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in Westminster.

The Boards assesses S4C's performance monthly.

The Chairman leads the Board.

The channels Chief Executive leads the Management Team and all the staff of the channel. The Management Team are responsible for the editorial and commissioning decisions of the channel from day to day.

The S4C Board makes sure that the services provided by S4C answer the needs of the audience.
