combination of soft fruit with lots of strawberries!

Method
Heat the oven to 200C.
Place the flour in a mixing bowl and rub in the butter.
Stir in the sugar, add an egg and then the milk to get a soft dough.
In a saucepan, place all your summer fruit with a small amount of water and a little sugar to sweeten. Place over a medium heat and allow to just simmer for a few minutes until they begin to soften.
Transfer the fruit into a deep baking tray or oven proof dish.
Make several small dough balls (Walnut size) out of the scone mixture and place on top of the fruit.
Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until well risen and golden. Serve with ice cream or clotted cream.
