1 packet of pizza dough mix, made by ingredients or pizza dough from store or make your own pizza dough. You will need enough pizza dough to make 2 20cm circles
pepper and salt
1 onion, sliced or chopped
1 red or yellow pepper, cut into strips
25g mushrooms
a handful of spinach
a handful of small, halved tomatoes
1 garlic clove, crushed
2 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp red sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
75g cheddar cheese, proportioned
Method
Preheat the oven to 220 ° C / 200 ° C fan / Gas 6.
Fry the minced beef dry until brown, leaving it lumpy.
Add the onion, peppers and mushrooms and lightly fry to soften.
Add all other ingredients except the cheese. Mix it all and leave the mixture to cool.
On a floured board, roll the pizza dough out into 2 circles about 20cm each.
Place the pizza dough circles on baking paper.
Mix the cheese into the beef mixture. Halve the beef mixture and place on half of each pizza dough circle with a spoon, leaving 3cm around the edge.
Wet the edges with water and fold the pizza dough over half the circle to form the calzone.
Press to seal the edges. Using your fingers, crimp or fold the dough to form a pattern around the edge of the calzone.
Carefully lift the calzone on a baking tray and place in the oven for about 20 minutes until the dough is golden and crispy.
