Cake in a mug

Vanilla flavour

Ingredients

  • 25g butter
  • 35g caster sugar
  • splash of vanilla
  • 45g self raising flour
  • 45ml milk
  • zest of 1 small orange
  • 1tsp jam
  • ice cream/cream/fruit/sprinkles to decorate

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a bowl, add sugar, vanilla, flour, milk and orange zest and mix well.
  2. Pour into a mug.
  3. Microwave for 1-2minutes checking every 30 seconds or so.
  4. Scoop out a little of the centre and fill with jam.
  5. Top with whipped cream and fruit.

Chocolate flavour

Ingredients

  • 30g plain flour
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 15g cocoa powder
  • 55ml water
  • 30ml vegetable oil
  • splash of vanilla
  • 60g chocolate drops
  • ice cream/cream/grated chocolate to decorate

Method

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, water, oil and vanilla together and mix well. Add the chocolate drops and pour into a mug.
  2. Microwave for 1-2minutes checking every 30 seconds or so.
  3. Top with ice cream/cream and a little grated chocolate.
