Fantastic flapjacks

Ingredients

  • 175g butter
  • 250g porridge oats
  • 125g soft brown sugar
  • 55g yellow treacle
  • 50g mixed fruits and nuts

Method

  1. Place the butter, treacle and sugar into a saucepan.
  2. Heat to a low temperature for 2-3 minutes and stir until melted.
  3. Add the oats and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking tin and press down using a spatula.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes until golden but soft.
  6. Remove from the oven and leave for 10 minutes to cool slightly.
  7. Cut into squares and leave to cool in the tin.
  8. Store them in an airtight box.
