It is an exciting time to be working in the creative sector in Wales. Great local stories, well told, are transcending geography and language to be enjoyed by global audiences.
From Irish language hit The Quiet Girl to S4C's own Dal Y Mellt on Netflix, the way has been paved for non-English originated content.
The Commercial Content Fund has been created by S4C International to fully realise new commercial opportunities for great S4C content and producers – internationally and on different platforms.
Whatever creative field you are in we'd like to hear from you to see if we can help to take your idea to market.
We will support distinctive Scripted and Unscripted content that has potential to make an impact in the market – reputationally or financially.
We will also invest in commercially-appealing intellectual property - such as books, games, animation, and content-based tech.
With the right support, our sector can grow creatively and commercially carrying on the legacy of S4C hit shows that extends back to hits Super Ted, Sam Tân/Fireman Sam and Un Bore Mercher/Keeping Faith and looks forward with Y Golau/The Light in the Hall, Dal y Mellt, Gwledd/The Feast and Y Sŵn.
Our areas of focus will be: Scripted, Specialist Factual, Documentary, Factual Entertainment Formats, Children's (under 6). Animation where viable.
The Fund has been established by S4C Rhyngwladol Cyf (S4C International), a wholly owned subsidiary of S4C, the Welsh public service broadcaster.
