This walk starts outside the local cafe, the Bocs Pwdin, where you can enjoy treats of all sorts. From here, turn right and walk down Cilfynydd Road. You'll see Cilynydd Pillars (A) on the right. Take a moment here to look back over the old Albion Colliery Site (B).
With the pillars on your right, turn right to walk up National Road. Continue for around half a mile, and take the lane on the left to walk up towards the house. Continue on this lane and you'll reach the site of Cilfynydd Tip (C). Walk along the tip on the footpath, taking in the amazing views and you'll reach Cefn-y-Garth farm.
Join the lane towards the farm, Cefn-y-Garth road, and you'll come out on Llechwen Road. Turn left here, then take the first right towards Llechwen Hall Hotel (Ch) where the walk ends.
A. Cilfynydd Pillars
This war memorial was unveiled in 1925 and designed by a wounded ex-serviceman. The 3 columns represent Army, Navy and Flying Corps.
B. Albion Colliery Site
The Albion Colliery was sunk in 1884 on the site of the Ynyscaedudwg Farm. The pit opened officially in August 1887.
C. Cilfynydd Tip
In 1939, after a period of heavy rainfall a large slide of a tip occurred at Cilfynydd Common. It slid around 710 feet, blocking the main road and the River Taff.

First built in the 17th Century as a family residence, Llechwen Hall is now a luxurious hotel and popular wedding venue.
