Carol, who lives in Pen Llŷn with her husband Matthew and their sons Gwion and Elgan, runs her own cake business from home, Vernau Kitchen, which she set up 6 years ago.

Prior to that, the mum of two completed Level 1 & 2 catering course at what was then known as Coleg Menai Bangor. At the age of 17, she went to work for a 5-star hotel in London in addition to a restaurant for four years.

Always happy and ready to help others, in her spare time ('which isn't very often!') Carol enjoys shopping, cross-stitch, playing golf, walking and travelling - 'I celebrated my 40th with the family in New York!'.

TRIVIA: 'I have to switch on the electric blanket every night - even in the summer!'
