Suicide

There's information here if you're feeling low and need someone to listen. Also, there's help for families, carers, friends and others who might know someone in this state.

A lot of the information is aimed at young people, and many of the sites highlighted might have more than one section aimed at the different people in these situations. We also include information for those who have been bereaved by suicide.

  • CALM - Campaign Against Living Miserably

    Help and support from a charity which seek to help young men who feel depressed or suicidal. Suicide is the main cause of death for men under 45 in the UK.

  • Saneline

    SANE runs a national, out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers. They also have a comprehensive website offering advice around mental well-being. They are open every day of the year from 4:30pm to 10:30pm.

  • Hafal

    One of Wales' leading charities foe people with serious mental illness and their carers. Help and support of all kinds available, including support groups across Wales.

  • Mind Cymru

    Bilingual advice and support to empower anyone with a mental health problem, but with good, clear advice on a range of subjects, including around COVID-19.

  • Cruse Bereavement Care

    Cruse Bereavement Care is a service offering counselling, information and support to anyone who has been bereaved. It has ten groups in Wales and bereavement counselling, telephone and children's counselling are provided by carefully selected, trained volunteers.   • The Mix

    The MIx is a well established website and online community which covers many topics of interest from advice on drugs, alcohol and addiction to sexual health, help with unplanned pregnancy or if you parents are splitting up. Advice also if you've lost someone close. It's full of stories, message boards and comments and advice on everything. Appropriate helpline referrals for each topic are given throughout.
