Director of People and Culture

S4C has an amazing and dedicated workforce of circa 125 individuals based in our Carmarthen, Cardiff and Caernarfon offices which also provides hybrid working from home.

As a member of the management team, the Director of People and Culture will be responsible for developing a strategy that fulfils our aspirations for our staff, attracting, retaining and developing a diverse and talented workforce, and creating an environment that allows everyone who works with us to feel safe, and be the best they can be.

This is a highly visible role at all levels, and you will be required to build strong and trusted relationships across the leadership team, our Board, staff and their representatives and our partners.

We are looking for an inspirational leader who brings experience in developing and implementing people strategies, with a strong knowledge of organisational culture and development, positive workplace engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and has significant experience in advising on HR technical issues and service development. A change maker who encourages those around them to step outside their comfort zone, you have a confident and informed approach to all aspects of people and culture and a proven commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in the workplace, so that everyone feels they can bring their true and best version of themselves to work.

The ability to communicate effectively in both Welsh and English to a high standard is essential.

Additional Information

Location: S4C has offices in Carmarthen, Cardiff and Caernarfon and operates a hybrid working policy. You will be required to attend other S4C offices from time to time in accordance with service requirements.

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000

Working Hours: 35 ¾ per week. Due to the nature of the job, flexibility is expected, including working outside office hours, including possibly on some weekends and bank holidays.

Contract: Permanent

Probation Period: 6 months

Holidays: In addition to the statutory bank holidays, you will be entitled to 26 days of paid holidays per year increasing to 32 days dependent on length of service. If you are employed on a part-time basis you will receive a pro rata share of the holiday.

Pension: Salaried staff are entitled to join a Group Personal Pension Scheme subject to the terms of any scheme in existence and amended from time to time. If you are a member of the Group Personal Pension Scheme, S4C will contribute 10% of your basic salary to the Scheme. You are expected to contribute 5%, but you can contribute more if you wish.
