S4C programmes have been nominated for ten awards at the 2007 Celtic Film and Television Festival, held in March on the island of Skye in Scotland.
Episodes of drama series Con Passionate and Cowbois ac Injans, programmes about soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and pianist Llŷr Williams, factual entertainment series Popeth yn Gymraeg and moving documentary Nôl i Ethiopia have all been nominated.
Gwynfor - Yr Aelod Dros Gymru?, a documentary about politician Gwynfor Evans, and food series Dudley - Y Glannau were also nominated, along with an episode from the series for young people, Campyfan, and animation, Map yr Underground.
Rhian Gibson, S4C’s Director of Commissioning, said: “The Celtic Film and Television Festival attracts entries from every corner of Britain and beyond, and winning ten nominations is quite an achievement. Warmest congratulations to the talented teams involved in making these programmes, in the independent sector, ITV Wales and BBC Wales.”
