A popular S4C drama series has been nominated for a prestigious award at the Rose d’Or Festival, held from 5-9 May in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Con Passionate follows the trials and tribulations of the members of a Welsh male voice choir and their female conductor, Davina, played by Shan Cothi.
The series has already received considerable recognition and has won awards at the Celtic Film and Television Festival Awards 2006 and BAFTA Cymru awards.
The Rose d’Or Festival has, for almost 50 years, awarded the most celebrated international television programmes, with over 358 entrants this year whittled down to 64 nominations across seven categories.
Rhian Gibson, S4C’s Director of Commissioning, said: “The Rose d’Or Festival hails talents from all over the world and it is a great achievement to all involved in the series, both on and off screen, to be recognized as a contender against the world’s finest productions. Good luck to the Con Passionate team.”
