Three trailers are to be won by viewers of S4C farming series Ffermio in its 2007 competition launched today (Tuesday 24 July) at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show at Llanelwedd.
The series, produced for S4C by Telesgôp, will be offering the three prizes courtesy of Ifor Williams Trailers Ltd of Corwen. First prize will be a TA5 livestock trailer, second prize is a CT136TA trailer for smaller animals and the third, a P5 trailer.
Ffermio returns in August with visits to regional and local agricultural shows before the start of the next full series in the Autumn.
Between September and November the Ffermio crew will ask viewers a different question every fortnight. The first letter of each answer, when re-arranged, will spell a five-letter word. To get a chance of winning, it will be necessary to watch the series.
The winners will be chosen at random from all the correct answers and to secure the prizes one more question will have to be answered over the phone. The prizes will be presented at the Winter Fair at Llanelwedd held on 26 and 27 November.
“These are very valuable prizes. We are glad this year again that we can offer such great prizes. Ifor Williams Trailers Ltd have been very generous and are obviously very supportive of the agricultural industry,” said Dyfrig Davies, executive producer of Ffermio.
“Ifor Williams Trailers Ltd is once again pleased to be associated with the Ffermio programme by providing trailer prizes for their annual competition,” said Siân Williams, the company’s Marketing Co-ordinator.
This year four special Ffermio programmes will visit Wales’ regional and local shows. Beginning on Monday, 13 August at 8.25pm, and then weekly, the Ffermio crew will bring viewers a taste of the North Wales show at Caernarfon, Teifi Valley Show at Newcastle Emlyn, Llanfyllin Show and Pontarddulais Show. The competition will begin in September.
Ffermio returns to S4C on Mondays from late September.
The farming bulletin, Bwletin Ffermio is broadcast twice weekly on S4C digidol throughout the year on Tuesdays and Fridays at 12.20pm.
