TV chef Dudley Newbery will be bringing a taste of Italy to food festivals across Wales this autumn.
The S4C chef will be showing people how to prepare a selection of food from Umbria, Italy – including risotto, home-made pesto and ravioli - as he promotes his latest television series, Casa Dudley, to be broadcast on S4C this autumn.
In the series, filmed at the Cantina Tabarrini in Umbria, a region of Italy famous for its food, eight of Wales' best amateur chefs will battle it out in the kitchen under Dudley's watchful eye. Each day, the person who doesn't meet the necessary standards will have to turn tail for Wales, leaving one winner at the end of the series.
Casa Dudley follows the success of Chez Dudley last year, which was filmed on location at a cookery school in Provence, France. Jan Wilson Jones from Ruthin was victorious in last year's competition and she will be presenting her own cooking demonstrations in the Anglesey leg of the tour.
Dudley Newbery said, “Italy is a utopia for those who love food. The cuisine of Umbria is very much based on family traditions, with plenty of fresh foods and local produce.
“I'm looking forward to visiting different food festivals across Wales, where members of the public will have a chance to taste a selection of delicious Italian dishes.”
The tour kicks off in Bridgend (September 21), then heads to Narberth (September 22 & 23), Haverfordwest (September 28), Chepstow Garden Centre (September 29), Riverside, Cardiff (September 30), Merthyr Tydfil Market Square (October 5), Brecon (October 6), Anglesey (October 12 & 13), Llangollen (October 20 & 21), Dolgellau (October 22 & 25), before finishing at Conwy (October 27 & 28).
