S4C is to reinforce its presence in north Wales with a move to brand new modern premises at the heart of Caernarfon’s rejuvenated Victoria Docks area.
The Channel is taking a lease on office suites in the Victoria Docks development, which overlooks Caernarfon’s marina and the Galeri arts centre. The new offices will offer staff improved, dedicated facilities.
Six members of staff will be based at the new premises, including S4C’s new Head of Children’s Services, Siân Eirian, who will head up the office.
There will also be space in the suite for S4C staff from across Wales to use as a base while on business in the area.
S4C expects to move into its new premises in mid 2008. Until then, it will continue to be based at its current offices on Lôn Ddewi.
Iona Jones, S4C’s Chief Executive, said, “This move into contemporary, vibrant new offices, in a more prominent part of Caernarfon, strengthens S4C’s presence in the area, allows improved engagement with producers and public alike and reinforces our commitment to north Wales.”
