S4C breaks record with six nominations for Promax UK Awards

S4C has received six nominations for this year's Promax UK – the channel's biggest haul in the UK's top television marketing and producing awards.
Two of the nominations are for the campaign promoting S4C’s coverage of the 2008 Six Nations rugby tournament. ‘The Platform’ promotional film, produced for S4C by award-winning production house, J M Creative, received nominations in the Best Use of Humour and Best Sport categories.
J M Creative also feature in the Best Sound Design category as producers of S4C's on-screen campaign for the choral challenge series, Codi Canu.
S4C promotions producer, Owain Morgan Jones, is nominated in the Best Newcomer category for three promotional campaigns: the Mona Lisa film for arts show Sioe Gelf; the Indiana Jones pastiche for the harness racing series, Rasus; and a trailer for the relaunch of football programme, Sgorio.
S4C has also received recognition for the launch of Cyw, the channel's extended nursery programming service, with a nomination in the Best Cross-Media category.
S4C’s graphics team has been nominated in the Best Design award for its ‘Gwyrdd’ campaign to promote S4C’s range of green-themed programming.
S4C Chief Executive Iona Jones said: "We are delighted that we have received so many nominations for the Promax UK awards. We keep on raising the bar at S4C in both our programming and promotional work and are proud that our on-screen promotions and graphics are setting new standards in creative excellence by receiving this record total of nominations.”
The Promax UK awards dinner will be held at London's Grosvenor House hotel on 1 November.
