S4C had hoped to broadcast the Scarlets v Blues LV= Cup match live before the international between England and Wales.
S4C held discussions with the region and the RFU about this possibility but, as a number of tickets had already been sold, it was the Scarlets’ wish that we did not broadcast the game. This was the decision of the Scarlets and the RFU as organisers of the LV= Cup and was beyond S4C’s control.
However, the good news is that there will be plenty of live sport and programmes of interest to sport followers on S4C in the coming weeks. The popular entertainment show Jonathan returns for the Six Nations Championship, there is a powerful documentary about the rugby referee Nigel Owens, as well as live coverage of all Wales’ matches in the Six Nations. Saturday, 13 February will be a highlight, with live coverage of Chelsea v Cardiff in the fifth round of the FA Cup, followed by Wales v Scotland in the Six Nations.
