The best of S4C’s autumn programmes in screenings all over Wales

13 September 2010

Over a thousand people have attended public meetings held by S4C throughout Wales over the last ten days previewing three of the channel’s autumn programmes.

Previews of the powerful new drama series Pen Talar were screened in Cil y Cwm, where some of the series was filmed, Cardiff, Brynaman, Aberystwyth, Dolgellau, Denbigh, Crymych, Tumble, Aberaeron, Coleg Menai, Bangor and seven comprehensive schools.

Two hundred people attended a screening of Pen Llŷn Harri Parri in Mynytho and over a hundred people saw previews of Byw yn ôl y Llyfr in Machynlleth and Llangernyw.

Pen Talar is one of the most ambitious drama series made for S4C. It follows two families living in a fictional west Wales village over half a century. It stars Richard Harrington, Ryland Teifi and Mali Harries.

The former minister of religion and author, Harri Parri travels around his home area in Pen Llŷn Harri Parri while Bethan Gwanas and Tudur Owen go back to live in the Victorian era in Byw yn ôl y Llyfr.

Rhian Gibson, S4C Director of Commissioning, said, “The fact that we’ve been travelling throughout Wales in the last ten days showing some of our autumn programme highlights to over a thousand people in their home areas shows S4C’s commitment to meeting our viewers in their communities.”
