Almost a million watch S4C in a week as 2011 begins well for the Channel

Almost one million viewers tuned in to S4C’s programmes last week. (Week ending 23 January).
A total of 669,000 individuals in Wales and 304,000 outside Wales – a total of 973,000 – watched the Channel’s programmes during the week. This included the FA Cup game between Cardiff City and Stoke broadcast on Tuesday 18 January attracting 608,000 viewers throughout the UK.
Recently announced figures also show that S4C’s top five programmes in 2010 attracted 26% more viewers than the Channel’s top five in 2009.
