Wedi 7 tonight (Wednesday 2 February at 19:00 on S4C) will pay a special tribute to actress Margaret John, who died today aged 84.
Margaret died in her sleep at Singleton Hospital in Swansea after a short period of illness.
With an acting career spanning over 50 years, Margaret did a little bit of everything - from radio to television, films and roles in the theatre. She will mostly be remembered for playing the role of Doris in the popular comedy series Gavin and Stacey. She had a great sense of humour and played many comedy parts during her career including the BBC Wales comedy High Hopes, Little Britain and The Mighty Boosh.
In May 2009 she received the Bafta Cymru Lifetime Achievement Award.
Her last TV appearance was on the S4C drama Alys. She also starred in the S4C film Ar y Tracs: Y Trên i’r Gêm on 1 January, 2011.
On Wedi 7 tonight, former head of BBC Wales drama John Hefin, and fellow actors Rhian Morgan and Dafydd Hywel will pay tribute to her.
