On 12th February 2011, S4C made statements to the media following the publication of the Shortridge report which may have been understood to be alleging that Iona Jones, S4C's former Chief Executive, was solely responsible for the implementation of the Separation policy and which could be viewed as being critical of Ms Jones.
Given that S4C and Ms Jones reached agreement in relation to Ms Jones claims before the Employment Tribunal on terms which all parties were pleased with, S4C accept that it was inappropriate to make the statements and they retract them in full. S4C also wish to clarify that Ms Jones was not the architect of the Separation policy. S4C apologise to Ms Jones for any distress caused.
