Singing sensation, Rhydian Roberts will have his own series on S4C in the autumn and one part of the show will be dedicated to new Welsh talent.
Now Rhydian is inviting talented Welsh people to email him or phone the TV company Avanti if they think they could shine with the stars in his new S4C show.
The search for talent begins next week (week commencing 27 June) as Rhydian and production company Avanti begin a tour of Wales looking for artistic performers, from singers and musicians to dancers and comedians. Eight of the very best will appear in the series Rhydian on S4C from October onwards.
The series of eight shows and a Christmas Special, recorded at Dragon Studios, near Bridgend, will also feature star guests.
“It’ll be an entertainment show in which we’ll give an opportunity for previously unknown talent to shine” said Rhydian, who’s originally from Sennybridge.
“We’ll be looking for new talent by every means possible, finding new performers to showcase in the series. I’m not necessarily looking for people with an interesting personal story, I’m looking for raw talent. It won’t be a competition but each of the eight will get the chance to share a stage with some big name artists.”
Rhydian’s own career has rocketed since he was runner-up in the 2007 series of X Factor. He will shortly be rejoining the cast of the Queen musical ‘We Will Rock You’ at the Birmingham Hippodrome and in August will be releasing his latest album ‘Waves’, from which his first single ‘Parade’ will be released in July.
Anyone wishing to apply to appear in the new talent feature in the Rhydian series are asked to do so by Monday 8 August by telephoning production company Avanti on 07786 33 22 00 or emailing Rhydian on rhydian@avantimedia.tv
