Music with Rhydian Roberts and Only Men Aloud, exciting new drama, the wonders of the Pembrokeshire coastline and all the passion of the 2011 Rugby World Cup lie at the heart of S4C’s vibrant autumn schedule.

Singer Rhydian presents his first ever television series, providing a stage for dazzling new talent, while Only Men Aloud sing opera, songs from the musicals and movie soundtracks.

In the dynamic new drama series Gwaith Cartref, the hurly-burly of modern school life is brought to life on the small screen, while Sombreros looks at the relationship between two sisters and Zanzibar focuses on one summer in the life of a group of friends.

In Llwybr yr Arfordir, author and broadcaster Jon Gower is our guide along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, recently voted the third most popular hiking trail in the world.

All Wales’ games in the 2011 Rugby World Cup will be broadcast live on S4C, as well as the opening ceremony, the Final, highlights programmes, an insider’s view of the Welsh camp and editions of Jonathan Davies’ entertainment show, Jonathan.

Gareth Roberts, Arthur Emyr, Gwyn Jones and Jonathan Davies will be among S4C’s presentation and commentary team, while the fans themselves will get a chance to take part in S4C’s coverage, by phone, text, Twitter – using the tag #rygbi - and Facebook.

Fifty years since once of the most popular Welsh language novels was published, Un Nos Ola Leuad (One Moonlit Night), S4C pays tribute to its author, poet and journalist Caradog Prichard.

Afal Drwg Adda is a powerful drama documentary, starring the late Stewart Jones, based on Prichard’s autobiography of the same name. It covers Prichard’s childhood in Bethesda, Gwynedd and his career as a journalist in Wales and London. The award-winning film adaptation of his novel, Un Nos Ola Leuad, will be broadcast, as well as a special edition of the arts series Pethe.

Dudley Newbery will also be offering tips on how to create a memorable meal in his brand new series Dudley ar Daith, and he’ll be turning to some of Wales’ best-known chefs for ideas.

Geraint Rowlands, S4C’s temporary Director of Commissioning said, “It’s the beginning of a brand new season on S4C, with a variety of great programmes which feature both original stories and shed new light on aspects of our culture and history.

“There’ll be top quality acting, singing, presenting and commentating, coupled with spectacular locations in Wales and abroad, with S4C reflecting the life of the nation.”
