Rapsgaliwn, one of the popular stars from Cyw, S4C’s service for little children, and ‘the world’s best rapper’ has released a brand new app, especially for Christmas, which is free to download to an iPad. This follows the success of Rapsgaliwn’s first app – ‘Apsgaliwn’.
The app, ‘Raplyfr 2 “O Ble mae coed Nadolig yn Dod?” (Where do Christmas trees come from?) is a colourful storybook app full games which are part of the story. As the golden suited rapper to his magical rapbook for the answer to his question, Rapsglaiwn and his friends find themselves in a cold forest. While they’re there, they meet someone very special who has a long white beard and wears a red suit!
The app is free and can be downloaded from iTunes to iPads. It can also be used on Android Tablets.
Siân Eirian, Head of Children’s services at S4C says: “S4C is leading the field in technology for children. This latest Welsh language device for nursery children and their parents is sure to be a big hit over the festive season.”
The app has been designed as a result of a partnership between gwasg y Lolfa and Cube Interactive, a Cardiff based company who created the images for the Rapsgaliwn website. Beca Evans of Fflic, the production company which produces Rapsgaliwn is the author of the story.
The Cyw app, launched in February has also been updated, and includes even more games, stories and video clips. The innovative app enables children to enter the magical world of Cyw and friends anytime and anywhare. And gives adults and children the chance to learn and enjoy in each other's company.
