Meirion Davies, S4C's Head of Content, has decided to leave the Channel and return to the independent production sector.
Meirion has worked mainly in children's programming, entertainment and drama and in several different posts for S4C over a period of almost 20 years. He has been responsible for commissioning and the editorship of a wide range of S4C programmes such as Rownd a Rownd, Gogs, Sali Mali, I Dot, Martha, Jac a Sianco, Ar y Tracs, Patagonia and Teulu.
Meirion Davies said, "I've been fortunate to work with creative individuals and very talented teams in S4C and in the production companies over the years, and I'm now looking forward to building on that experience and working within the independent sector in the fields of entertainment and comedy. I'd like to thank everyone at S4C for being so supportive and I wish the Channel all the best as it faces the future's challenges."
Ian Jones, S4C Chief Executive, said, "Meirion's contribution to S4C and to the creative field in Wales has been immense, and I'm sure his experience and his passion for broadcasting will be a big asset to the independent production sector and to S4C as we face the challenges of the future together."
