Stars of S4C's celebrity reality series are revealed
13 May 2012
The star line-up for S4C's Welsh learning reality series cariad@iaith:love4language has been revealed.
Among the stars are rugby legend Gareth Thomas, tenor Wynne Evans – or Gio Compario from the TV ads - and news presenter Lucy Owen.
Joining them are actor Robert Pugh, X-Factor contestant Lucie Jones, CBeebies presenter Alex Winters, actress Di Botcher and Scrum V presenter Lisa Rogers.
Then from 26 to 31 May, join Nia Parry and Gareth Roberts each night as they present live from fforest camp near Cilgerran.
Each day the stars will attend an intense Welsh lesson with Nia Parry and fellow tutor Ioan Talfryn. They will then put the pupils’ new skills to the test in a series of linguistic challenges.
Last year's series saw Josie d'Arby haggling for a lamb at Cardigan livestock market, Matt coming first in a coracle race on the River Teifi.
In July 2011 we saw Matt and Josie enjoy the cariad@iaith experience along with Colin Charvis, Melanie Walters, Lembit Öpik, Helen Lederer, Rhys from GLC and Sophie Evans.
Matt now fronts S4C's Welsh learners' series Hwb. This year's celebrity line-up was revealed exclusively on the programme on Sunday 13 May, and Matt admits that he is one of the cariad@iaith's biggest fan.
"In all honesty, I'd put my hand up to do it again! cariad@iaith was an amazing experience. It meant a lot more than just a TV show and it wasn’t just a one-off. It gave me the confidence to continue my Welsh lessons," says Matt. "I’ve a feeling it’s going to be an amazing series this year."
