Rhodri claims Fferm Ffactor special prize at The Royal Welsh

Rhodri Evans, 36, from the Bala area, has claimed the first win of this year's Fferm Ffactor 2012 series in a challenge held at The Royal Welsh Show.
Rhodri will return to his hill farm in Parc, near Bala, with a brand new ATV farm bike worth £7,800 courtesy of Honda.
On Tuesday afternoon, 24 July, visitors to The Royal Welsh Show were given the chance to meet the ten farmers taking part in this year's Fferm Ffactor. Three of them also took on an ATV obstacle course challenge with the chance to win the Honda bike.
This was the second time for Rhodri to take on a Fferm Ffactor challenge at The Royal Welsh Show, in front of a crowd of thousands who came to support.
"I think the nerves were worse this time compared to last year," says Rhodri, who was one of the two unfortunate contestants eliminated before the start of last year’s series after a live task at the Show.
"It was such a disappointment to have to end the journey almost before it began. By entering the competition again this year I've sort of put myself on a pedestal, and if I don't do well this time then I really have some explaining to do!"
Competing against Rhodri for the Honda ATV was Robin William of Tudweiliog, Llŷn Peninsula and Dilwyn Owen of Llanedwen, Anglesey. So, does winning this task give him the edge over the other contestants in the series, which returns to S4C in October?
"I don't think about it that way, but if I can do well in the driving and practical tasks then it will make up for any weaknesses I may have when I face the judges' questions in the chair. I think that could be my downfall," says Rhodri as he looks forward to taking on the challenge.
Tune in each week to see the ten farmers tackle a series of challenges to test their farming skills to the max. Keeping a watchful eye on their progress will be the judges - Professor Wynne Jones and former winner Aled Rees.
One by one, the weakest of the group will be sent home, leaving one winner to claim the title of S4C's 2012 Farmer of the Year and drive home an Isuzu D-Max Yukon 4x4 pick-up.
