10 nominations for S4C content for Celtic Media Festival Awards

Ten of S4C’s services or programmes have been included on the shortlist for this year’s Bronze Torc Awards, which will be presented at the Celtic Media Festival in Swansea in April.
Eight of the channel’s programmes have been included in the list along with 2 digital services.
From drama to factual programmes, from comedy to children’s services, there is wide recognition for S4C content.
Included on the short list are:

Abadas (Dinamo)
Y Byd ar Bedwar: Chwilio am April (ITV Cymru)
Gwaith Cartref (Fiction Factory)
Jonathan - Pencampwriaeth y Chwe Gwlad 2012 (Avanti)
Tai Bach y Byd (Cwmni Da)
Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn (Rondo Media)
Y Lifft - Gwasanaeth Ail Sgrin (Boom Pictures Cymru)
Y Tywydd – App (Tinopolis)
Over a hundred productions from over 60 production companies and broadcasters have been included on the shortlist. There are 20 categories in genres such as animation, current affairs, drama, entertainment, sports and factual programmes.
There are new categories this year for the Best App, Music Programmes, and Sports Programme. The organisers received over 425 submissions from Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany, the Isle of Man, and Ireland as well as from Wales. The short list has been compiled by an international jury.
S4C’s Director of Content, Dafydd Rhys said:
“It’s great to see that S4C is so prominent in this international shortlist. In the television and digital categories, S4C is up there, demonstrating our determination to be ambitious and to provide the highest standard of content in Welsh for the people of Wales.
“The recognition we have had in the digital categories reflects the emphasis S4C now places on ensuring that our content is available in the most modern ways, on as many platforms as possible to ensure that the audience can enjoy it wherever and whenever they wish to do so.
“I’d like to congratulate all those production companies and other partners with whom we have worked very closely to make this varied content available to the people of Wales.”
