 Two S4C series' have won a Bronze Torc on the third and final day of the 2013 Celtic Media Festival held in Swansea.

Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn came out on top in the Young People category at the awards ceremony held on Thursday afternoon, 25 April, and Tai Bach y Byd won the Factual Series category.

Bedwyr Rees of Rondo Media, Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn producer, said, "We've been given free reign by S4C to sustain and protect the show's unique voice and that has been a massive asset. This prize is testament to the effort and enthusiasm of the cast and crew and a big thanks is owed to each one of them."

Ifor ap Glyn of Cwmni Da presented, directed and produced the series Tai Bach y Byd. He said, "The series is a co production between Cwmni Da in Caernarfon and Western Front based in Dorset, and has been financed by S4C, SDML, BBC and the Commonwealth Broadcast Association. It's fair to mention that this Welsh series has a sister project in English, The Toilet – An Unspoken History, which was broadcast on BBC4.

"Despite the series' light hearted nature it dealt with a complex and serious subject since so many people in the world live without a toilet of any kind. And we're grateful to the BRAC organization in Bangladesh who opened so many doors for us to the countries slums and do a huge amount of work to provide some of the world's poorest people with a toilet for the first time ever."

S4C has already won two awards at the festival, with Jonathan: Pencampwriaeth Y Chwe Gwlad 2012 winning the best Entertainment award and Gwaith/Cartref winning the Drama Series category during the first two days of the event.

Dafydd Rhys, S4C Director of Content, said, "Congratulations to Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn and Tai Bach y Byd for their success at the Celtic Media Festival. It's fantastic to add their achievements to S4C's other two awards won at the festival this year, which has been a successful event for the Channel and is a testament to the talent within the creative industry in Wales."

The 2013 Celtic Media Festival, which is being held in Swansea between 24 and 26 April, will come to a close tonight.
