Children and families from all over Wales can look forward to the Cyw Christmas show this year as it tours the country visiting thirteen different locations.
In this year's show – Merry Christmas Cyw – the loveable chick has hidden everyone's gifts, but can't remember where! But there's no need to worry as Dona Direidi, Ben Dant, Heulwen, Oli Odl and Huwi Stomp, and two Cyw presenters are on hand to help save the festive season.
The show promises to be fun-filled with plenty of singing and dancing to get everyone excited for the big day!
The tour takes place between Thursday 5 December and Saturday 21 December in Secondary Schools and Theatres across Wales. Tickets are available to everyone so members of the public have a chance to buy as well as primary schools, pre-school, nursery and play groups who wish to take groups to performances local to them.
During the three-week tour the Cyw Christmas Show will visit Cardiff, the Rhymney Valley, Swansea, Ystalyfera, Carmarthen, Cardigan, Aberystwyth, Pontrhydfendigaid, Llangefni, Ruthin, Bala, Pwllheli and Caernarfon. See notes below for exact locations.
Tickets to all performances are now on sale and can be bought online or over the phone. Tickets can be bought via Galeri Caernarfon's booking system (except for performances at the Taliesin Theatre in Swansea, which are only available through the Theatre). See notes below for full contact details.
S4C's Director of Communication, Marketing and Partnerships, Garffild Lloyd Lewis said:
"It's great to be able to announce that there are more tickets than ever before available for the Cyw Christmas Show this year. With thirty four performances in thirteen locations children across Wales children can look forward to sharing the excitement of Christmas with Cyw and friends again this year.
"Knowing how popular the Cyw shows are, we've commissioned MR PRODUCER to organise a timetable which allows for as many children and families as possible to attend the performances. By hosting the shows in schools and theatres we're able to keep costs down and within a budget which reflects the financial pressure that S4C is under.
"Cyw and friends are a big part of the daily lives of children in Wales and it's fantastic that they can share the excitement of Christmas with some of the most popular characters from S4C's children's service."
Stifyn Parri, Managing Director of MR PRODUCER and producer of the Cyw Christmas show said:
"We're very pleased to have the chance to take the much-loved Cyw brand and S4C on tour across Wales this December, and to an even wider audience than last year.
"It's important that children get to experience theatre performances from an early age and it's a privilege to take on board this responsibility and to offer a show full of song and dance, making sure each child can join in the fun and welcome their heroes to the local community. So get ready, Cyw is coming to a town near you!"
