S4C will broadcast highlights of the French Top 14 rugby championship on the Channel’s new Sunday afternoon sports show Clwb.

Some of Wales’ top rugby players ply their trade in the French Top 14 – and the weekly feats of Jamie Roberts, Leigh Halfpenny, Mike Phillips, Dan Lydiate, Jonathan Davies, Luke Charteris and co will now be enjoyed on S4C.

Coverage of the Top 14 begins this weekend on Sunday, 7 September as part of the six-hour sporting feast on Clwb which starts at 12.30pm.

The Top 14 coverage starts with highlights of matches played on Saturday, 6 September.

The coverage will usually be broadcast before or after the big Clwb Rygbi live rugby, which this week will be the Guinness Pro 12 match between Zebre and Blues (coverage starts 3.45pm, kick off 4.00pm).

The Top 14 highlights this week feature a number of Welsh rugby’s top stars in the Clermont v Racing Métro and Toulon v Bordeaux Begles matches.

The coverage will be produced by Sunset & Vine Cymru and SMS for S4C. Clwb is produced by Rondo Media for S4C.
