Many programmes within S4C's pre-school service, Cyw, and S4C's Children and young people's service Stwnsh, have received nominations in Children's BAFTA Awards 2014.
The British Academy Children's Awards ceremony will be held in London on Sunday 23 November, which recognises the very best in children’s media.
Cyw has been nominated for an award for the best children's channel of the year, and in the learning interactive category for the Cyw a'r Wyddor app (Cyw and the alphabet).
Madron, which is part of the Stwnsh service, has been nominated in the best interactive animated category.
Madron is an interactive multi-platform project combining animation and apps. Madron was produced by Glasshead production company on behalf of S4C.
Boom Pictures Cymru is responsible for producing the Cyw on-screen links and many of the service's programmes. But numerous independent companies contribute to the content, with co-productions and acquisitions also in the mix.
Cube, who are partly based in Cardiff, are responsible for the interactive aspects of Ludus, the Cyw a'r Wyddor app, and Madron – the three projects have been nominated.
Other programmes which appear on S4C that have been nominated for a BAFTA award are Bing – which is part of the Cyw service, and Ludus, an interactive programme which is broadcast on Stwnsh.
The English version of Ludus has been nominated in the best interactive programme - in the same category as Madron.
Also nominated, is the English version of Bing, which has been given a nod in the best preschool category. Bing, which is about a small rabbit, will appear on S4C in the new year. S4C has contributed towards the project.
S4C's Children's Content Commissioner Sioned Wyn Roberts said;
"It’s a privilege to hear the good news about the nominations in the Children's BAFTA. Cyw and Stwnsh services are incredibly important to young audiences, and I would like to congratulate all the production crew for their creativity in creating original content with tight budgets.
Providing children's service is very important to S4C, and it's fantastic that this unique content has been recognised by BAFTA.
The important thing for us is that we provide original content that children will enjoy on our channel, and receiving nominations like this feels like the icing on the cake."
