International award for S4C's Y Gwyll promotional campaign
21 November 2014
The S4C promotional campaign to raise awareness of the first broadcast of detective drama Y Gwyll/Hinterland has gained international recognition in the C21Media International Drama Awards.
The award for 'Best consumer marketing campaign for a drama series' recognises the advertising campaigns and awareness raised on various media and news outlets as well as social media.
The C21Media International Drama Awards judging panel was made up of 72 of the world’s leading drama commissioners and executives. The award was presented to the S4C promotional team in a ceremony in London on Thursday, 20 November.
This is the second award to recognise the success of the campaign. At the start of October, S4C's Y Gwyll campaign also received a Canmol Award from the Chartered Institute of Wales, with the campaign coming out on top in the Arts, Heritage and Creative Industries category.
Ian Jones, S4C Chief Executive says, "I'm very proud that the work of the promotion and marketing team at S4C has been recognised on an international stage. Congratulations to all involved in this creative and high impact campaign which called on skills and expertise from across the broad fields of marketing and communications. The work continues as we look ahead to the one-off special episode of Y Gwyll/Hinterland on S4C on New Year's Day."
Y Gwyll/Hinterland returns to S4C on New Year's Day with a brand-new one-off special episode, and the second series will follow later in 2015.
