Wales' favourite singing competition is back! On 7 March, 2014, eight songs will compete for the Cân i Gymru title and a cash prize of £3,500. The winner will also represent Wales at the Pan-Celtic Song Festival in Ireland.
Following the success of Barry and Mirain Evans with their song 'Galw Amdanat Ti', eight new acts will take to the stage at Pafiliwn Môn in Gwalchmai, Anglesey.
The competition also has a new format this year, as four famous faces from the Welsh music industry act as mentors and guide the competitors in the studio. The names of these four people will be revealed soon.
Elin Fflur, previous winner and presenter of Cân i Gymru 2015 said, "It's a big honour to be asked to present the show again this year. The standards are very high each year and I'm looking forward to hearing the songs and seeing the acts perform.
"Winning the competition was a fantastic experience but I still remember the nerves to this day, so I know how the competitors will feel."
This is the 46th edition of the competition, and previous winners include Margaret Williams, Bryn Fôn, Ryland Teifi and Iwcs a Doyle.
So, if you're a composer a singer or a member of a band, the competition is open to everyone aged 16 or over and the closing date is Friday, 16 January 2015. The full competition rules and application forms are available on the Cân i Gymru website www.s4c.co.uk/canigymru
