Eight nominations for S4C content for Celtic Media Festival Awards

Eight of S4C’s programmes and services have been included on the shortlist for this year’s Bronze Torc Awards, which will be presented at the Celtic Media Festival in Inverness, Scotland in April.
Seven of the channel’s programmes have been included in the list along with one of its digital services which received the Kevin Hegarty Award for Innovation.
From drama to factual programmes, from comedy to children’s services, there is wide recognition for S4C content.
Included on the short list are:
Y Syrcas (ffatiffilms / AimImage) – Feature Length Drama
Pyramid (Boom Plant) – Kieran Hegarty Award for Innovation
I Grombil Cyfandir Pell: American Interior (Ie Ie Productions) – Art
Dim Byd (Cwmni Da) – Entertainment
Adam Price a Streic y Glowyr (Tinopolis) – Factual Series
O'r Galon: Yr Hardys – Un Dydd ar y Tro (Rondo) – Factual Single
Mered (Cwmni Da) – Factual Single
Gwirionedd y Galon: Dr John Davies (Telesgop) – Factual Single
A total of 118 nominations from 78 production companies and broadcasters have been included on the shortlist. The organisers received a record 500 submissions from Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany, the Isle of Man, and Ireland as well as from Wales. The short list has been compiled by an international jury.
S4C’s Director of Content, Dafydd Rhys said:
“I’d like to congratulate all those production companies and other partners with whom we have worked very closely to make this varied content available to the people of Wales. Once again, the variety and number of nominations is proof of the high standards attained by production companies in Wales on a regular basis.”
