Opportunity for Welsh documentary makers to hone their skills with leading factual producers
25 August 2015
S4C is inviting factual programme makers to take part in a specially organised two day course at the S4C offices in Llanishen, Cardiff in mid-September.
One of Britain's leading documentary directors, Nick Fraser, will lead a masterclass while two experienced tutors in film documentary, Patrick Uden and Frank Ash, will hold two workshops during the two day course on 16 and 17 September.
The course is organised by S4C under the aegis of the channel's Factual Content Commissioner, Llion Iwan, in co-operation with the creative, digital and media training company, Cyfle.
Llion Iwan, Factual Content Commissioner, says; "This course is an opportunity for us to share ideas and our experience of producing gripping and memorable factual programmes. With some of the fields' most experienced and shrewd minds, we will look specifically at how to reach TV audiences effectively and maintain their interest and enthusiasm."
The course, which is free of charge, is open to 20 participants only, and is specifically for directors and producers who are already experienced in the field of factual documentaries.
To apply for a place on this unique course, send your applications containing evidence of your work, and a short CV, to catrin@cyfle.co.uk by midday on Monday, 7 September.
If accepted to attend the course, you will be required to bring a script or synopsis of an idea for a documentary programme which has either been recently commissioned or broadcast during the past two years – in order for the tutors to provide feedback during the sessions.
