S4C net Welsh-language coverage of Euro 2016

S4C will broadcast all three of Wales’ Euro 2016 group matches in France in the Welsh language.

Wales’ first adventure in an international football tournament since 1958 will be available in Welsh on TV and online on S4C.

S4C will cover Wales’ matches against Slovakia on Saturday, 11 June, England on Thursday, 16 June and Russia on Monday, 20 June in Group B.

Viewers who wish to watch the coverage in Welsh anywhere in the UK will be able to enjoy on a choice of platforms and online services.

S4C are yet to confirm the presentation team for these matches, but the channel has a strong pedigree of broadcasting top international sports coverage.

S4C broadcast highlights of Wales’ historic Euro 2016 qualification campaign which saw Chris Coleman’s heroes qualify for a major international football tournament for the first time in 58 years.

The announcement comes as S4C prepares to broadcast the documentary Y Daith i Ewro 2016: Allez Cymru! on Monday, 28 December 9.00pm when the Welsh national team's historic achievement of qualifying for Euro 2016 will be celebrated with a look back at the campaign’s most memorable, and emotional, moments on the pitch.
