The film Yr Ymadawiad/The Passing has won the Single Drama award at this year’s Celtic Media Festival Awards.
The film beat off a strong shortlist which included another S4C backed production Y Streic a Fi to take the gong at the media festival being held at Dungarvan, Eire this week.
This powerful evocative drama was produced by Severn Screen in collaboration With Boom Pictures and Film Cymru Wales for S4C.
Written by writer and producer Ed Talfan, one of the co-creators of the multi-award-winning detective series Y Gwyll/Hinterland, it was directed by Gareth Bryn.
Currently on cinematic release, it will be broadcast at a later date on S4C.
The film stars Mark Lewis Jones as the loner Stanley and Annes Elwy and Dyfan Dwyfor as the lovers. When young couple on-the-run Sara and Iwan crash their car into a stream near a remote farmhouse they’re rescued by local man Stanley. But disrupting Stanley’s solitary life leads to unexpected consequences for all three of them.
