05 January 2018
Last night, a packed-out audience at Bangor's Pontio arts centre were the first to enjoy a special screening of S4C's new crime-thriller drama series, Craith.
The new series hits screens this Sunday evening, 7 January at 9.00 (Welsh and English subtitles), and the first episode was premiered at Pontio last night (4 January), followed by a question and answer session with leading actors Siân Reese-Williams, Rhodri Meilir and members of the production team. The event was jointly organised by BAFTA Cymru and S4C.
The eight-part drama, filmed in Snowdonia, tells the story of detective DI Cadi John (Siân Reese-Williams) who returns to North Wales to care for her ailing father. However, when the body of a young woman is found in a local river, it becomes obvious that sinister secrets lie within the stunning North Wales scenery. Cadi's world - and the world around her - is changed forever.
Other cast members include Rhodri Meilir (Byw Celwydd, Pride), Gwyneth Keyworth (Game of Thrones, Wasted, Bang) and Siôn Alun Davies (Endeavour, Y Gwyll/Hinterland). A Severn Screen production, the project brings together series creators Mark Andrew and Ed Talfan and director, Gareth Bryn, all of whom worked on the award-winning drama series
Y Gwyll/Hinterland. The producer is Hannah Thomas.
Writers on the series include award-winning Welsh novelist Caryl Lewis and BAFTA Cymru-winning writer Jeff Murphy and James Rourke.
