 It's just over a week until Team Wales flies the flag at the Commonwealth Games on the Australian gold coast.

In wishing the athletes well at the start of their campaign 'Down Under', S4C's Chief Executive, Owen Evans says that their efforts will inspired the nation.

Owen Evans, S4C Chief Executive says; "On behalf of everyone at S4C, I wish Team Wales the best of luck at the Commonwealth Games. Although we are a small nation, we've proven that we can impress on a big stage - and we will be behind you every step of the way!

"You're an inspiration to me and you're the perfect example of the message promoted in FFIT Cymru, our new series which starts in April – which is that an active and healthy lifestyle is within reach of us all.

"Good luck to Team Wales, and we're looking forward to seeing the Welsh flag flying with pride in Australia."

At the same time as the Commonwealth Games, S4C's brand new series FFIT Cymru will encourage the nation to give up bad habits, and live healthier and more active every day.

In the series, which begins on Thursday 10 April at 8.00, over a period of just eight week, we will follow five people on a journey to transform their lives - with the help of a dietician, psychologist and personal trainer. And the whole nation can join in by following the exercise and healthy eating plans online.

Owen Evans explains; "FFIT Cymru's message is that by making small changes to our daily diet and habits it can have a great impact on our wellbeing and our health.

"By choosing fruit instead of cake, climbing the stairs instead of taking the lift, and by trying a new sport with friends and family - we can make a big difference to our own health and wellbeing."
