S4C has launched a brand-new apprenticeship scheme and has welcomed three apprentices to work at the channel's headquarters at Canolfan S4C Yr Egin in Carmarthen.
This scheme is part of S4C's commitment to training and encouraging people to come and work within the media and creative industry offering opportunities and developing skills locally in the West.
Gruffudd Evans has been appointed as digital apprentice, Joseph Hughes as finance apprentice and Enfys Davies-Harries as business apprentice.
The apprentices will work for S4C for a period of 14 months during which they will get a taste of all aspects of the channel and the industry.
Enfys Davies-Harries, 22, from Efail Wen said:
"It is an honour to join the S4C team as a business apprentice. I considered doing a business course in college recently but as this opportunity arose with S4C, I am delighted to be able to learn and experience the important work of running a Welsh television channel."
S4C Chief Executive Owen Evans said: "The opportunity to offer an apprenticeship scheme arose as we relocated S4C headquarters to Canolfan S4C Yr Egin in Carmarthen. This scheme offers us a way to invest in the future of the channel, by developing individuals through the medium of Welsh. This will be of benefit to S4C and the industry as a whole. We are also proud to be able to offer valuable experience and opportunities in West Wales."
It is hoped that this scheme will continue in the future in order to build on the areas of expertise within S4C.
