Owen Evans, S4C's Chief Executive, has sent a letter to viewers today to share some of the channel's exciting plans in 2021.
In wishing S4C viewers a Happy New Year, Owen Evans says he is pleased to see the back of 2020, and notes that 2021 will be packed with new programmes.
"We'll have several new original dramas this year starting with Fflam in February which stars Richard Harrington, Gwyneth Keyworth and Memet Ali Alabora. Bregus in March with Hannah Daniel in the lead role and Yr Amgueddfa in June starring Nia Roberts and Steffan Cennydd. These are sure to keep you at the edge of your seats and will also be available as box sets on S4C Clic . "said Owen Evans
"We'll also have a new series of Iaith ar Daith in March, with a new group of celebs learning Welsh and traveling Wales. Steve Backshall and Iolo Williams have already been filming as well as Joanna Scanlan and Mark Lewis Jones. Look out for more stars soon!"
He also mentioned the channel's new digital news service where a team of new staff has been appointed to run the service.
"We will soon be launching a digital news app to be at the forefront of bringing you the latest news at your fingertips."
"We hope to be able to work with Urdd Gobaith Cymru again on plans to stage a digital version of the Urdd Eisteddfod in May."
"And for those watching S4C through Virgin Media, from January 4th onwards S4C will be available on 104 instead of 166 on Virgin Media in Wales. S4C will continue at 166 in the rest of Britain."
S4C is also in the process of gathering public opinion on S4C and has commissioned research and analysis firm Strategic Research and Insight to lead on the work.

Owen Evans also took the opportunity to thank everyone for their support towards S4C during the past difficult year.
