Coverage of the Welsh Parliamentary Election on S4C
25 March 2021
S4C will scrutinise the parties and their policies, bringing all the news of the Welsh Parliamentary Election to viewers throughout the Election period.
Starting on Thursday 25th March, the Pawb a'i Farn programme will give 16 and 17 year old voters a chance to question the politicians.
We'll hear what topics are important to them and what will influence their vote on May 6th.
Betsan Powys will present the programme from North Wales on the evening of Thursday 22nd April and on the 3rd of May she will be questioning the leaders of the major parties three days ahead of the Election.
In addition, a new series of Y Byd yn ei Le will begin on 7 April with Guto Harri scrutinising and interpreting all aspects of the Election.
S4C News on television and digitally will detail all elements of the candidates, parties and policies.
And as the count takes place a day after the poll Bethan Rhys Roberts will bring viewers the news and the results.
Geraint Evans, S4C's Commissioner for News and Current Affairs, said:
"With 16-year-olds getting the right to vote for the first time in the history of the Welsh Parliamentary Elections there will be a new energy to the campaign this year, and with the battle moving online because of the pandemic, we will also have coverage from S4C's new digital News service.
"S4C's comprehensive coverage will also bring the latest news on television and with some of the most knowledgeable presenters and contributors, we will scrutinise all aspects of the election.
"This year also as the counting takes place the day after the vote you will not need to stay up until the early hours, and with the mention of a close fight, the excitement of the results will be Friday night entertainment on S4C on May 7th."
