6 ‘Lŵp: Ar Dâp’ sessions to come in 2021

26 May 2021

Following on from the success of the Stafell Fyw (Living Room) tour, a series of 6 extended sessions called Lŵp: Ar Dâp (Lŵp: On Tape) will come to the S4C Lŵp platform over the coming months.

The Stafell Fyw tour included four live gigs featuring some of the most popular bands in the Welsh Music Scene such as Calan, Adwaith, Gwilym, Candelas and more performing at venues across Wales on Lŵp's platforms.

Launched in August 2019, Lŵp is a new platform for all kinds of contemporary Welsh music and culture.

Rhodri ap Dyfrig, S4C's Online Content Commissioner, said:

"We are delighted to be able to commission this series of 6 extended sessions to showcase Wales' best music artists.

"Following the Stafell Fyw experiment, it is extremely important that we develop further content on Lŵp that supports the music industry in Wales and showcase live performances in what has been a difficult time."

In the first session, available to watch on 26 May, the popular and alternative folk band 9Bach come together to record four songs from Neuadd Ogwen, Bethesda.

It's always a pleasure for the members to get the band together, and this is truer than ever after the past year:

"9Bach is a family," said Lisa Jên, the band's lead vocalist. "We are husband and wife, we are brother and sister, we are best friends.

"We've been together for 15 years so being able to come together recently to make music is very special."

9Bach's session will be available to watch on Lŵp's YouTube page and on S4C Clic from May 26th. Then, in June the band Tri Hŵr Doeth will perform a session with Yr Ods performing in July.

As well as this, 3 more sessions will be available later in the year with 3 more bands, so keep an eye out on Lŵp's platforms for all the latest details.
