TOP 5: Wales’ Moments in the World Cup

We look back at Wales' top 5 moments of the World Cup. From the opening game against Uruguay, to our last match against South Africa, we look back at our most memorable moments of Rugby World Cup 2015.

1. The ‘Biggarena’

Undoubtedly up there as one of the fans favourite, we first saw the 'Biggarena' in Wales' 28-25 win over England at Twickenham. For those of you who don't have a clue what the Biggarena is, here's a quick guide. Line your kick at the posts up, give a few swipes of your left shoulder… a few swipes of your right… bounce uncontrollably up and down on the spot… swipe your hair… repeat a few times and produce your perfect kick down the middle of the posts to win you the game. Since, we have seen South Africa prop Trevor Nyakane doing the 'Biggarena', after the loss against the boks.

2. Defending of the Maul

If Japan can do it… anyone can! Or so we thought… Japan (Who pulled off the biggest upset in rugby history after beating the Springboks in Brighton) declined the chance of 3 points (to draw the game), instead kicking to the corner! Most people thought it was it, however after pushing and shoving, running and falling, the Japanese finally crossed the line to win the game. England however… showing the same enthusiasm… tried the same thing against Wales… only it didn't quite pay off as well. Wales executed their defence of the maul to perfection, pushing the English at an angle and in to touch! In result, Wales retained possession to go on and win the game.

3. Jiffy, Ioan and Gats

Shared thousands of times around the globe, there were some amazing celebrations by these 3 men. The first we witnessed was Mr Gatlands full time reaction as he had a massive smile on his face (For once) and was clearly as excited as us all! Jonathan (Jiffy) Davies, who was commentating at the stadium, was seen to be jumping up and down, screaming uncontrollably, almost to the point that he falls over! As I'm sure most of us were too. Last but not least was Ioan Gruffydd, the Welsh actor who was filmed celebrating and screaming without a care in the world! Probably so caught up in the moment that he didn't even realise he was in his pants…

4. The Anthem

I doubt many would argue if I say the anthems weren't the best in this year's World Cup (Not everyone was in sync)… However it definitely IS safe to say, that every time that Wales were singing… every single Welshmen and women were on their feet, singing away with pride. Red faces in red jerseys, tears during and after them. Nothing will ever match up to the Welsh national anthem.

5. Nigel Owens

The man from Mynyddcerrig, who is everyone's favourite to referee the final has produced some of his finest work throughout the tournament. Quick-thinking one liners including his reaction to Scotland's Stuart Hogg, who dived like a footballer to the ground after South African winger JP Pieterson brushed past him. The much loved Welshman is definitely a fans favourite, and we are all prepared, for whatever else he has in store.
