YULE LOG

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CHOCOLATE Sponge:

65g of raising flour

100g of refined sugar

4 large eggs.

40g of cocoa powder.

FOR THE FULL READING:

* 300ml of double cream

FOR THE CHOCOLATE ICING AND DECORATIONS:

100g of softened butter

200g icing sugar

3 tablespoons of milk

2 ½ tbsp cocoa powder

SNOW MEN

* 6 Ferrero Rocher or 6 Raffaello chocolates

* I prepared vanilla.

* I prepared chocolate.

* A few gyrants or similar decorations.

* 2 Red liqueur teas.

* 1 tbsp icing sugar.

THAT IS ALSO NEEDED

METHOD

Step 1

* Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.

* To create the chocolate sponge, whisk together the eggs and sugar until it turns a light yellow and light.

* Add the flour and cocoa powder to the mixture by sifting and then mixing.

* Prepare the baking tray by first coating the tin with butter and then place excess baking paper and then coat again well.

* Pour the mixture into the tin and then smooth so that it spreads and fills.

* Put the tin in the oven for 8-10 minutes.

Step 2

* Cut poppy paper to the same size as tin and place on kitchen counter or table.

* Spread icing sugar over the paper until it is covered.

* Turn the chocolate sponge on top of the paper and roll the sponge tightly from one side to the other while still warm.

* Let the sponge rest while doing the filling.

Step 3

* For the cream filling, whisk the cream until thick.

* When ready and the chocolate sponge has cooled, unroll the sponge and apply the cream over the chocolate sponge.

* Roll the sponge again and here's your sponge roll ready to decorate.

Step 4

* For the chocolate icing whisk the butter for 4 minutes until soft.

* Add the icing sugar and cocoa powder to the butter using a little milk if needed until the mixture is smooth.

Step 5

* Cover the sponge roll with chocolate icing and then use a fork to create lines in the icing to look like a tree trunk.

Step 6

* Now to create the little snowmen. Carefully using a wooden skewer, place the chocolates on the shaker one at a time. The skewer will need two chocolates to make a snowman shape.

* Then using liqueur blue, tie halfway between the chocolates to create the snowman scarf.

* Use prefabricated icing, gyrants and decorations to give the snowmen a face. Place on top of the Chocolate Yule. Enjoy!
