Questions and Answers - Tender for Media Buying Services
Question 1
Your tender states that the main focus is digital but also states that you will not pay fees, rather the agency is to have the commission from the media provider. The main digital platforms – Google, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. do not pay commissions. Without a fee charging structure you will be closed off to all of the main platforms and the best digital advertising options. Set-up and management charges for these can be made to be equivalent to typical commission rates, so it wouldn't really cost you any more. Is this something you would consider changing?
Answer 1
As noted in the tender document our social media accounts are run in-house (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat), and we will continue to arrange most media campaigns conducted via these platforms internally. However, we may require the successful tenderer to arrange media campaigns on similar digital platforms from time to time. Please include within your response a proposed payment structure and suggested rates for purchases on any media platform where the typical commission rate relationship is not applicable.
