Background

Gwasg Gomer is a family-run printing and publishing company based in Llandysul. It has been established for over 125 years and is the largest publishing house in Wales. Gwasg Gomer pride themselves in speciality books which have a distinctive Welsh identity: Welsh books for adults and for children and English language books for adults and for children, audio books, teacher's resource area and print for external companies. Gwasg Gomer needed a campaign to drive traffic to the website for people to both view and purchase their latest publications across the specialist lists.

Execution

We had a meeting with the advertising sales team at S4C to discuss a commercial partnership with the channel. As S4C is the only TV channel dedicated to the Welsh Language, it made sense for us to consider this as part of our marketing mix to drive traffic to our website for sales and to publicise our publications. S4C's programming matches our brand values and we share the same target audience. The schedule of programming was presented to us and we were pleased to know that we could contribute our thoughts to it. The process was straightforward and the team at S4C were very understanding and knowledgeable about what our aims were and how we could best meet them with a bespoke advertising package on S4C.

Results

As a direct result of our sponsorship, we have been able to harness S4C's viewing audience, raise awareness of our books and drive traffic to our website. It has enabled us to elevate the profile of Gomer amongst our target audience as a professional brand with products that are designed for their entertainment.
